Historic rivertowns, civil war history, rich rural scenery, and outdoor recreation, are just a few of the attractions that draw visitors to the CMEDA region.  Centrally located, the five county region offers locals and visitors alike a cross-section of the state’s history, culture, and natural landscapes. 

A visit to the region might include a stay at a cozy bed and breakfast, touring a historic district, taking in a local winery, antique shopping, stops at community museums and heritage centers, visits to art galleries, or a scenic drive along the river.  Or for the outdoor enthusiast, fishing, boating, camping, and swimming, can be enjoyed at the 56,000 acre Truman Lake recreation area.
